The installation "No no no no I want you to be wide awake and hear details you've never heard before!" became multifaceted and deeply rooted in the environment and context of the Big Bend desert. The 200 m² outdoor installation, first displayed at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts in 2019 in Fort Worth, TX, aimed to immerse viewers in a dialogue about division and protection within the public sphere. Against the stark backdrop of the Trans-Pecos high desert, the installation’s vibrant colors—fluorescent pink and orange transitioning to white and black—served as a catalyst for exploration.
The land for the installation belongs to artists Winter Rusiloski and Angel Fernandez. They performed an action that was documented to further amplify the installation's message, creating a living experience that complemented its visual impact. The artists used the installation as a stage for their performance and, from the marks and use, built a final structure of the panels. We are incredibly happy that we've got invited by Winter and Angel, fulfilling our dream of having our panels in such a stunning landscape. Thank you!
A big thank you to Sara-Jayne Parsons, director & curator of The Art Galleries at TCU, School of Art, Fort Worth, for making this happen!
